Meet the Team:
Moriah Harris-Rodger and Alex Scoble founded Symbiocracy Inc. as a vehicle to develop strategic business and marketing plans that increase profit and positively impact society, utilizing strategic cause/charity relationships, cause marketing, viral marketing campaigns and practical business strategy.
Alex Scoble, MBA, Chief Strategy Officer / Owner:
Alex Scoble, MBA specializes in corporate strategic management, corporate brainstorming sessions, marketing, business strategy, user interface, monetization strategies, the development and execution of viral marketing strategies, email delivery and the development and maintenance of online web platforms and search engines. His experience in online marketing has allowed him to increase traffic to web properties and online communities both organically and through social media, CPA, PPC and Display advertising campaigns.
In the past few years, Alex Scoble has developed and executed online marketing strategies resulting in Mashable.com’s Open Web Award for “Best Search Engine of 2008″ and a CNET Webware Award for “Top 10 Search Engines of 2009.”
Moriah Harris-Rodger, CEO / Owner:
Moriah Harris-Rodger specializes in marketing, business strategy and cause relationships. She has been in the nonprofit industry since 2000 and in addition to being the founder and CEO of Symbiocracy, she also acts as the executive director of a national charity that provides instruments to music education programs.
Moriah, an alumna of California Lutheran University, has been a member of the Social Enterprise Alliance since 2006, is on the board of the Rotaract Club of Conejo Valley and is a regular speaker for the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce on topics such as social media marketing and search engine optimization.
Hillary Gadsby, Strategic Partner:
Hillary Gadsby has organized diverse public relations events from fashion shows corporate sponsorship and non-profit fundraisers. Her reputation is based on providing outstanding service for renowned brands in the European luxury industry. Hillary has extensive experience in Sales, Marketing and Event Management in the United States, London and Paris. Hillary’s ability to successfully build new business relationships for the various organizations she worked for (Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Vera Wang) put her in a strong position to create A Gadsby Affair, LLC in 2009.
During her career, Hillary has managed different aspects of marketing through advertising campaigns, event planning and strategic marketing plans for Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations and foreign dignitaries.
In the past year, Hillary has worked with The Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club, Kellogg & Andelson Accountancy Corporation, Convergence Capital Partners LLC, Woodcraft Rangers, Friends of Ballona Wetlands and Los Angeles Consulting Group. Her current projects include California United Bank, Hemancipation, Roozt.com and a fashion event at Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills for Girls In Tech.
Hillary is also the Director of Strategic Events for CSQ Magazine, a strategic partner at Symbiocracy and holds an executive committee position with Business Forums International’s West Los Angeles Chapter.
Michael Miller, MBA, Director:
As a Director at Symbiocracy, Mike oversees the day-to-day solutions from planning and managing marketing/sales programs, business development, assigning consultants to appropriate engagements and managing projects. Mike also helps executives evaluate their organization’s design, accounting, financial and human capital strong / weak points. He provides leader and manager development support, while helping executives plan and implement strategic initiatives. Past and current clients include organization from pre-revenue startups to Fortune 1000 public corporations.
Previous to joining Symbiocracy, he spent fourteen years in corporate America with Bendix and Allied Signal corporations, and has been an owner or partner in two firms. Positions he held included acquisition manager, divisional marketing manager, new product development manager, distribution manager, national sales manager and marketing communications manager.
Within the Green Industry, Mike is on the Membership Committee of the Los Angeles Venture Association (www.lava.org), where entrepreneurs and executives of middle-market companies actively meet and learn from fellow executives, investors, bankers, financial advisors and other providers of professional services. As a Board member of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce (www.sacc-gla.org), he helps facilitate trade between Sweden and the United States.
